Optimization Modeling: Theory, Algorithms, and Industrial Applications

Speakers
We are honored to have these three distinguished scholars share their insights and expertise with us.

First, we have Professor Didier Aussel from the Université de Perpignan in France. Professor Aussel is a leading expert in the field of bilevel optimization models, Nash equilibrium, and quasi-convex optimization. He has also applied his research to industrial park designs and management as well as energy market modeling.

Our second speaker is Professor Michel De Lara from École de Ponts ParisTech, also in France. Professor De Lara specializes in stochastic optimization modeling, game theory, and their applications in smart-grid management and supply chain design.

Finally, we have Professor Patrick Louis Combettes from North Carolina State University in the USA. Professor Combettes is an expert in numerical algorithms for optimization problems using operator splitting methods and different decomposition techniques. His research has been applied to image and signal recovery, inverse problems, and training machine learning models.

Around and about.
The Workshop “Optimization Modeling: Theory, Algorithms, and Industrial Applications” was agreed on December 2022 where all speakers agreed to create some possible collaboration for the scholars and students here in Thailand that would be a sustainable event. The workshop aims to deliver diverse cutting-edge research topics in optimization and encourage involvement of the participants through exercises, presentations and discussions. Coming up with some promising research ideas would be an ideal outcome of the workshop that we are hoping for.
Acknowledgements.
I would like to thank all the speakers that kindly agreed to contribute to the workshop. My thank extends to all the participants for their great enthusiasms and interests.
The financial supports came from (1) the Center of Excellence in Theoretical and Computational Science (TaCS-CoE) at KMUTT, and (2) the Petchara Prajom Klao Scholarship.
